MIDDLETON, MA, April 18, 2005 — noiseAnonymous, an online collaborative space
for sound-artists + musicians, announced today the second phase of it's web
presence { betaTeen version 0.2.05 } has been launched to the world wide web.
"The previous website was one of those lame 'Coming Soon' placement pages — something to tease the general public, but it didn't even have an accurate description of the organization, it's goals or the concept," said noiseAnonymous media frotnman Jeff Russo. "Now visitors to the site should be able to get the full picture, you know? Really get a sense of what we're all about. This is when the { explicative } fun really begins."
According to Jeff and other sources at noiseAnonymous, the site will allow visitors to the site to upload sound files using YouSendIt. After a few weeks, the noiseAnonymous staff will choose from the many contributions and post 3 of the best tracks to the noiseAnonymous 'home' page. Musicians + sound-artists will be encouraged to download the tracks and start playing with them in their home studios. New tracks that derive from the 'raw' contributions will then be uploaded for the second round of noisePlay. 2 more rounds of download + manipulation will then lead to the generation of a finished 'song' or sound 'track' — which will then be available for download to the general public.
"It's a really cool concept," says Sara Duckheim of the local Boston-area performance troupe 'Unlike Charlie'. "I mean, there are so many digital tools out there now to use, and there are so many musicians that aren't necessarily exploiting the idea of collaborating on studio-based projects by just zipping up files and sending them back + forth like this. Of course, it might be cooler to jam live w/ some of the noiseAnonymous participants in a webex-like or breeze-oriented virtual environment, but noiseAnonymous is almost as cool as that — I guess."
A random passerby in Central Square said of noiseAnonymous, "I'm just so tired of people like Dick Cheney ruining everything for everyone in this nation. I mean, like, what the { explicative }? I'm just glad that noiseAnonymous is around to just let the people get back that true democratic vibe, you know? This is what makes America a great place — innovation, collaboration, online pornography + gambling sites. Gotta smoke?"
And finally, SiNuS BRaDy of Radio Pü fame summed it up by adding, "You're not going to find anything else like these 'out there'. Well, there is the Haiku Machine, I guess ... but that's not really collaboration, you know? It's more an experiment in online automation. Robotry if this is the word. But anyhow, the noiseAnonymous concept is pure genius. I wish someone I knew thought of it first, but they didn't ... and that's why most of my friends suck. Dont' quote me on this one though, eh?"
